Supporting Vocational Teacher Training in Egypt

At the end of November 2019, the vocational school in Hamburg warmly welcomed the visit of Prof. Dr. Alaa Barakat, Founder and Chairman of MDE, Prof. Dr. Margret Ruep and Mr. Helfberend, both advisors to the foundation. The cooperation with ITECH is part of a larger project to establish vocational schools in Egypt following the German dual system, especially in the fields of electrical and automation technology as well as information and communication technology. Considering also the local market demand, MDE also target the parmaceutical-technical and the care sector. At their visit to the ITECH vocational school, the representatives of MDE could learn more about the working methods and the equipment and had the possibility to talk to the students of the school as well as members oft the teaching staff. They further conducted meetings with representatives of training companies as well as the Chamber of Commerce in Hamburg. The ITECH vocational school in Hamburg is very keen to support the Egyptian vocational education system and is looking forward to receive the first batch of Egyptian teachers for the „job shadowing“ in Hamburg.
